Quick Update: Search Campaign
Posted by Christopher in Links on May 28th, 2010
I spent a little time last month optimizing our search campaign. Our cost per click (or cost per contact) was so great that I didn’t want to risk raising it, but we were able to actually lower it! Now your donations will go even further to contact more people that are literally searching for the truth.
Month to date we have sent 411 new investigators to mormon.org.
For Example – Adwords

For example, one of our campaigns utilizes adwords or links that come up in search results. When someone searches apostle our ad comes up on the right hand side of the results page. When clicked, it brings them to this page at mormon.org. From there they can explore more of our doctrine and feel prompted by the spirit to find out for themselves that it is true.
Say you donate $10, last month that would have enabled this ad to be displayed 5,325 times and 36 people would have clicked on it. 36 people were interested enough in modern-day apostles to click on a link that would take them to mormon.org. And all because of you. Where did I get those numbers? They came from how our Apostles Adword Campaign actually did last month. We actually spent three times that on this particular campaign and had 120 people click it in Febuary.
Right now we have eight separate campaigns with over a hundred different search terms bringing them up. Help us fund them. Help us make the truth easier to find. People are literally searching for it.
1,000 Contacts!

Each click on our adwords campaign we consider a missionary contact. Today we had our thousandth contact. Our most popular link is about our living prophet and apostles. It’s great to see that people are at least curious about a restoration of the same structure as the church during Christ’s time. We hope that people will continue to feel prompted to click on our links and learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
People are literally searching for the truth we need to be there to answer their search.
Because, really, it’s our answers they’re looking for. Thank you to all who have donated time and money to get this effort off the ground. I hope and pray we’ll be able to contact thousands more.
